The county’s venues are a distinctive mix of restored timber barns, moated Tudor and Georgian manor houses in large grounds, and some of the busiest Asian banqueting halls in the South East. Those are three different disciplines, and we bring the right one: drape and full-scale mandaps for the halls, restrained florals and candlelight for the manors, and warm architectural lighting for the barns.
How do you style an Essex barn without spoiling the timber?
By lighting it rather than covering it. A well-restored barn has already given you the best feature in the room, an exposed frame with real height, and the mistake is to drape over it. We uplight the trusses in a warm tone, hang or stand florals at a scale that reads against the roof rather than disappearing under it, and put a single strong build at the gable end behind the top table.
Nothing is fixed into historic timber. Everything stands on its own base or hangs from our own structure.
What do the large Essex banqueting venues need?
Scale and speed. A six-hundred-guest reception in Ilford or Romford needs a stage and mandap proportioned to a very deep room, uplighting on measured spacing so the back of the hall is not left in shadow, and a full floor of matching centrepieces and linen. Venues often run two bookings in a day, so the install has to land inside a hard window. We bring the crew numbers that make that realistic.

Yes, and Essex has some of the best barns in the country. Barn styling is about working with the timber rather than hiding it: warm uplight on the frame, suspended or standing florals scaled to the roof height, and a focal build at the gable end. We never fix into historic timber.
Do rural Essex venues have the access you need?
Usually, with notice. Single-track lanes, gravel yards and grass parking are common, so we confirm the vehicle route and turning space during the survey and switch to smaller vehicles or trackway where a Luton cannot get close.
