Luxury Mandap Hire for Asian Weddings

Mandap hire is the supply, styling and installation of the ceremonial canopy beneath which a Hindu, Jain or Sikh wedding ceremony is performed. Avari Events has been designing and hand-carving mandaps in our own Harrow workshop since 2009, and hires them throughout London and the Home Counties. A package covers the structure itself, four, six or eight pillars depending on the design, together with a 30ft backdrop and uplighting, seating for the bride and groom, side and Kanyadan chairs, Bajots and Patlas, and a Havankund for the sacred rituals. Four wooden Choris, aisle pedestals, aisle statues, a matching aisle gate and a coordinated foyer display complete the ceremony setting. Our own crew delivers, builds, dresses and removes every element, and coordinates access times with the venue, so on the morning itself both families have nothing to think about but the ceremony.

What’s included in a mandap hire package?

Each hire arrives as a finished ceremony setting rather than a bare frame. You choose the pillar count and, if you wish, an optional gold roof fabric; we bring the 30ft backdrop with uplighting, seating for the couple and both families, and the ritual pieces: Bajots, Patlas, Kanyadan chairs and the Havankund. The aisle is dressed with four wooden Choris, six or eight pedestals, matching statues and an aisle gate, and a coordinated foyer display welcomes guests before they reach the room. Venue draping, creative lighting and floral design are specified alongside the mandap so the whole ceremony space reads as a single composition.

Which mandap designs can we choose from?

The Avari Mandap Collection spans several hand-carved structures, each with its own character. Ganeshji is the quietest of them, with intricate wooden detailing and soft integrated lighting for couples who want a traditional look with clean lines. Mayura is the statement piece, its pillars carved with peacock motifs that can be removed if you prefer a more minimal silhouette. Aayushi is balanced and understated, and photographs beautifully under warm light. Aashiqui carries a sculpted crown roof with a regal presence, styled with or without florals. Gold Jali is the most opulent: classic Indian grandeur, finished with red swags and personalised through coloured drapes and lighting.

Can we design a mandap of our own?

Yes. A custom draped mandap is built around your palette and vision rather than an existing frame. The process opens with a design consultation exploring fabrics, colours, textures and styling; a second meeting lets you see the concept resolved and refine the detail before we commit to the final build. Because the carpentry, drapery and finishing all happen in-house alongside our event builds and CNC fabrication, one-off elements are straightforward rather than exceptional.

How much does mandap hire cost?

Mandap hire starts from £1,500, with the final figure shaped by the design you choose, the pillar configuration, the styling of the crown roof and the scale of the aisle and foyer dressing. Because everything is quoted as a complete ceremony setting, the proposal you receive covers delivery, build, styling and pack-down rather than listing them separately later.

How far in advance should we book a mandap?

Couples typically reserve their structure twelve to eighteen months ahead, particularly for Saturdays in the summer season. Booking early secures the specific design rather than an alternative, and leaves room for the consultation and follow-up meeting that shape the styling. Shorter lead times are often workable, it is always worth asking about your date.

Which weddings and venues do you dress?

We install mandaps for weddings and cultural celebrations across North, East, South and West London, Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Essex and Harrow, and we know the access routes, ceiling heights and load-in restrictions at many of the region’s regular venues. Multi-day celebrations are usually planned with our event management team so the ceremony, reception and evening all move to one schedule.
