Event Styling in Harrow

Avari Events has been designing and building event décor from Harrow since 2009. Our workshop, stores and design studio sit together at Unit 11, Waverly Industrial Estate on Hailsham Drive, HA1 4TR, which means that when we style an event in Harrow, the mandap, the drape, the stage set and the centrepieces travel a few minutes rather than a few hours. What can you see at the Harrow workshop?

Everything, at full size. Photographs flatten colour and hide scale, so we would rather show you a drape swatch under the lighting we would actually use, stand you next to a mandap so you can judge its proportion, and set a table exactly as it would appear on the day.

The workshop is also where we build. Stage sets, plinths, arches and bespoke CNC-cut features are made on site, which is why a design that exists only in your head can still be made real for your date.

Which Harrow venues do you work in most often?

Headstone Manor’s Great Barn, the borough’s community and civic halls, the temples and gurdwaras across Harrow and Wealdstone, Harrow Arts Centre, and the schools that open their halls for balls and prize evenings. Many of these are shared spaces with a booking directly before yours, so the whole install has to land inside a two or three hour window. Local storage is what makes that achievable.

What styling suits a Harrow community hall?

Community halls are honest, practical rooms: good bones, plain surfaces, unflattering overhead light. The fix is almost always the same three moves: drape the walls to soften and unify, kill or gel the house lighting and replace it with warm uplighting, and build one strong focal point at the head of the room. Dress the tables to that palette and a hall becomes a ballroom.

Do you only work in Harrow?
