Bespoke event backdrops and custom stage sets designed, built and installed in London by Avari Events, for weddings, galas and corporate ceremonies.
An event backdrop or stage set is the constructed focal point a room is designed around: the panel, frame or built scenery that sits behind a couple, a top table, a lectern or a performance, and that most of your photographs will be taken against. Avari Events has been designing, building and installing them since 2009 from our own workshop in Harrow, for weddings, gala dinners, award ceremonies and corporate conferences across London and the Home Counties. A set may be a single styled backdrop or a full staged environment of panels, risers, drapery, floral detail and integrated lighting. Every design begins with your theme, colours and venue dimensions rather than a catalogue, and is drawn as a CAD layout and 3D rendering before anything is cut. Our crew then delivers, builds, dresses and strikes the whole structure.
What’s included in a bespoke stage set?
A finished set usually combines a structural frame, printed or draped facing panels, floral or sculptural detail, and lighting worked into the build so the focal point holds attention once the room dims. We specify the palette, the finishes and the proportions together, then produce whatever needs making, carved elements, printed vinyl, shaped panels, through our event builds and CNC fabrication and design and print teams. Because it is all handled in-house, the colour of a printed panel and the colour of a drape are matched rather than approximated.
How do you design a set for our event?
We start with the room. A site survey establishes ceiling height, load-in access, power and sightlines, and those numbers shape the design far more than any mood board. Your theme, palette and any brand guidelines then determine the finish. You see the result as a CAD layout and a 3D rendering, so scale and proportion are agreed on screen while changes are still inexpensive. Only then does the workshop begin building.
How much does a bespoke backdrop cost?
Backdrops and stage sets start from £750. The figure depends on whether the design is dressed from our existing frames and drape systems or fabricated from scratch, the width and height of the finished set, and how much floral, print and lighting detail it carries. Delivery, build and pack-down are included in every quotation.
Can the set carry our branding?
Yes, corporate work often calls for it. Step-and-repeat boards, printed key art, illuminated logos and branded stage surrounds are produced in-house to your brand guidelines, and can be paired with LED video walls where the content needs to change through the running order.
Which events are stage sets built for?
We build for weddings, award ceremonies, receptions and gala dinners, conferences, fashion shows and exhibitions. Sets are frequently specified alongside venue draping and creative lighting so the focal point and the room around it are designed as one.

Frequently asked questions
Are your backdrops made to order or hired from stock?
Both. We hold a range of reusable frames, panels and drape systems that can be restyled for each event, and we build entirely new sets in our Harrow workshop when a design calls for it.
Can we see the design before the day?
Yes. Stage sets are drawn as CAD layouts and 3D renderings before anything is built, so you can judge scale, sightlines and finish while changes are still easy to make.
How large can a stage set be?
Set sizes are governed by the room rather than by us: ceiling height, load-in access and the venue's own stage are the limiting factors. We survey the space first and design to the dimensions it will genuinely take.
Can our company branding appear on the backdrop?
Logos, key art and step-and-repeat patterns are produced by our in-house design and print team as large-format vinyl or printed panels, colour-matched to your brand guidelines.
Do you install the set on the day?
Our crew delivers, builds, dresses and removes the set. For events with a tight venue turnaround we schedule the build around your venue's access window and the rest of the production.
