Exhibition Stand Design & Build

Exhibition stand design and build is the process of turning a bare floor space into a branded environment that stops people walking past. It runs from the initial concept and CAD design through structural engineering, fabrication, graphics production, on-site installation and breakdown after the show. A stand has to work on several levels at once: strong sightlines and clear messaging from across a busy hall, lighting that lifts the product rather than the aisle, integrated screens or interactive technology to hold attention once someone stops, and a build robust enough to survive a week of traffic and be dismantled cleanly. Avari Events designs stands in CAD and fabricates them with CNC machinery in our own Harrow workshop, then installs and de-rigs with our own crew, so structural integrity, finish quality and the show deadline are held by one team.

What does a custom exhibition stand build involve?

Concept and layout first, informed by your stand position, neighbouring exhibitors and how visitors will move past you. We then produce CAD designs and visuals so the stand is agreed before a panel is cut.

Fabrication happens in our workshop with CNC machinery, graphics are produced by our design and print team, and the structure is pre-built and checked before it leaves us. Installation, show-day support and breakdown complete the job.

Why does building in-house matter?

Because exhibition deadlines do not move. Owning the workshop means we control the build schedule rather than queuing behind another contractor’s work, and it means bespoke geometry, curves, cut-outs, branded joinery, hidden cable routes, is a design decision rather than a cost objection.

It also shows in the finish. A stand is photographed all week and seen from a metre away; edges, joints and paintwork have to hold up to that scrutiny.

How do you make a stand attract visitors?

Height and light. A raised header or arch makes you visible across the hall, and lighting directs attention to product areas rather than flooding the whole booth evenly.

Then engagement: LED video walls or screens running product content, audio visual for demonstrations and presentations, and a considered layout that gives your team somewhere to hold a conversation without blocking the entrance.

Can stands be modular and reused across a season?

Yes. Where a business exhibits at several shows a year, we design a modular system whose panels reconfigure to different stand footprints. Structure is retained, graphics are reprinted, and cost per show falls significantly after the first build.

What about branding, print and finishing touches?

Large-format graphics, backlit panels, vinyl, banners, literature, sponsor boards and photo walls are produced by our design and print team to match the CAD design exactly. Draping and set elements handle storage areas, meeting rooms and anything better hidden.

Who manages install and breakdown?

Our event management team schedules build-up and breakdown around organiser slots and prepares the structural, electrical and risk documentation the venue requires. Our crew installs, stays contactable during the show, and clears the space to schedule.

Where do you build and install?

We fabricate in Harrow and install at exhibition venues throughout London and the South East, as well as regional and European shows on request.
