Event Styling in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire wedding and event styling: country houses, manor halls and barns dressed with bespoke mandaps, draping, florals and lighting.
Avari Events styles weddings and events throughout Hertfordshire: St Albans, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford, Stevenage, Hitchin, Bishop’s Stortford, Elstree, Borehamwood, Radlett and the villages between. The county is one of our closest markets: our Harrow workshop is twenty to forty minutes from most Hertfordshire venues along the A41, the M1 or the A1(M), so early access, same-day collection and site visits before booking are all easy. Hertfordshire’s character is country house and countryside, Georgian manors in landscaped grounds, restored barns, golf and estate hotels, and grand civic halls, and those settings ask for restraint rather than spectacle. Our work here tends toward floral design, candlelight, considered tablescapes and lighting that flatters period detail, alongside the full-scale mandaps and stage sets that the county’s large Asian weddings require. We are established at Sopwell House in St Albans and Allum Manor Hall in Elstree, with package pricing already agreed at both.
What is different about styling a Hertfordshire country house?
Space and daylight. Country-house rooms are often smaller and more numerous than a single banqueting hall, with a ceremony in one room, dining in another and dancing in a third, so the design has to travel and stay coherent across all three. Large windows also mean the room is seen in daylight and in candlelight on the same day, and a scheme that reads beautifully at eight in the evening can look thin at two in the afternoon.
We design for both: layered florals and texture that hold up in daylight, with lighting that takes over as the sun goes.
How do you handle rural venues and marquees?
With a proper site survey. Rural Hertfordshire means soft ground, single-track approaches, limited three-phase power and no service lift. We check the vehicle route, bring our own power distribution, use trackway or boarding across grass where needed, and schedule the build with enough daylight to work in. None of it is difficult with notice; all of it is difficult without.
Which Hertfordshire venues do you already know?
Sopwell House in St Albans and Allum Hall in Elstree are both venues where we work regularly and hold agreed package pricing. Beyond those we style across the county’s manor houses, estate hotels, barns and civic halls, and if your venue is new to us, we will visit it before we quote.
Can family abroad watch a Hertfordshire wedding?
Yes. Live streaming is one of our most-requested additions in this county, where guests are frequently international. We run it on a dedicated connection with proper audio, not a phone propped on a chair.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Hertfordshire from your base?
Very close. Our Harrow workshop is twenty to forty minutes from most Hertfordshire venues via the A41, the M1 or the A1(M). St Albans, Elstree, Watford, Radlett and Borehamwood are among the areas we work in most often, and there is no travel surcharge.
Do you work at Sopwell House and Allum Manor Hall?
Yes: both are venues we know well and style regularly, and we offer set reception, civil ceremony and Asian wedding packages at each. See our Sopwell House and Allum Hall pages for the detail, or ask us about any other Hertfordshire venue.
Can you dress a marquee or a barn in the Hertfordshire countryside?
Yes. Rural Hertfordshire venues often mean soft ground, limited power and no lift, so we survey access first, bring our own distribution and lighting, and use trackway or boarding where a vehicle has to cross grass. It is entirely manageable with notice.
Do you cover the whole county?
We do: St Albans, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford, Stevenage, Hitchin, Bishop's Stortford, Elstree, Borehamwood, Radlett, Rickmansworth and the villages between them.
Can guests who cannot travel to Hertfordshire watch the day?
Yes. We offer professional live streaming, which is particularly popular for Hertfordshire country-house weddings where relatives are overseas. It runs on its own dedicated connection rather than the venue's guest wi-fi.
