What does a luxury wedding stylist actually do?

A stylist takes a venue as it is, an empty function room, a barn, a marquee, and gives it a single, coherent identity. In practice that means a design concept and mood, CAD plans of the room, stage and seating so you can see the day before it happens, then the physical delivery: structures built, drapes hung, tables dressed, lighting focused and the whole thing struck cleanly afterwards.

Do you design and hire mandaps for Asian weddings?

Mandap design is one of our founding specialisms. We hold a curated collection, hand-carved traditional frames, gold jali detailing, floral and draped contemporary structures, and we also build entirely bespoke mandaps in our workshop when a couple’s vision does not exist yet.

Every mandap is styled to your colour palette and theme rather than dropped in as a stock item, so it reads as part of the room instead of an object placed in it. How do you style the reception room?

The reception is where scale does the work. Venue draping softens and reshapes the space, a backdrop or stage set frames the top table, and chair covers and linen unify hundreds of seats into one look.

Then the detail: floral design and table centrepieces at eye level, creative lighting washing the walls in your palette, and a dancefloor that marks where the evening turns. A photo booth gives guests something to take home.

What audio-visual and lighting does a wedding need?

Sound is chosen for the room, not the guest count alone: larger spaces need a line array system, smaller ones a point source setup, with monitor speakers on stage, a microphone-equipped lectern and wireless handheld or headset microphones for speeches.

Visually, an LED video wall, screens or projection carry photo montages and live camera feeds. Lighting layers spotlights on the speakers, uplighting around the venue, moving heads for the party and haze to give every beam shape. Confetti drops, dry ice and pyrotechnics are available for first dances and grand entrances. Our audio visual team designs and operates all of it.

Can guests overseas be part of the day?

Yes. Live streaming has become a standard part of the wedding brief rather than an extra: grandparents, cousins and friends who cannot make the journey watch the ceremony as it happens, with proper sound rather than ambient noise from a handheld camera.

Where do you style weddings?

We work throughout London and the Home Counties, with regular installations at venues including The Great Barn at Headstone Manor in Harrow, The Hive London, Sopwell House in St Albans and Allum Hall in Elstree. We are equally happy in a venue we have never worked before: a site visit and CAD plans come first either way.

How far ahead should we start planning?

Couples typically come to us twelve to eighteen months out, particularly for peak summer Saturdays and bespoke mandap builds, which need workshop time. Shorter timelines are often possible; the earlier the conversation, the more of the design is genuinely yours to shape.
