Bespoke Themed Event Styling
Bespoke themed event styling in London. Immersive concepts built from palette, props, lighting, texture and music, designed and installed by Avari Events.
Themed event styling is the design and delivery of an event built around a single coherent concept, where the palette, props, lighting, textures, sound and even the route guests take through the venue all belong to one idea. Avari Events has created themed events for weddings, corporate galas and private celebrations across London and the Home Counties since 2009, from classic and refined concepts through to bold, immersive experiences. Each theme is developed for the individual event rather than pulled from a catalogue: we take your initial idea, test it against the venue’s proportions and constraints, and refine it into something that can genuinely be built. Elements that cannot be hired are fabricated in our own Harrow workshop and installed by our crew. The result is a space guests read as a complete environment the moment they walk in.
How does a themed event come together?
It begins with a conversation about the feeling you want the room to hold, not with a list of props. From that we develop a palette, a material language and a set of focal points, then draw the scheme so you can judge scale and proportion before anything is committed. Fabrication follows, through our event builds and CNC workshop for anything bespoke, and installation is handled by our own crew. What arrives on the day is what you approved on the drawings.
What actually makes a theme work?
Restraint and repetition. The strongest themed rooms express their idea through colour, texture, scale and light rather than through literal objects, and repeat a small number of moves consistently across the whole space. A guest should feel the concept the instant they enter without being able to point to the one prop that caused it. Where a theme goes wrong, it is almost always because too many unrelated ideas were included rather than too few.
Which elements are included in a themed scheme?
Typically venue draping and surface treatment, a designed stage set or focal feature, lighting programmed to the theme, florals in silk or fresh, table styling with linen and centrepieces, bespoke props, and printed signage and stationery. Because all of these come from one team, the palette holds across every one of them.
Which events do you theme?
We develop themed schemes for weddings, celebrations, receptions and gala dinners, award ceremonies, fashion shows and brand activations at exhibitions, throughout London and the Home Counties.
How do we develop a concept?
Bring us an idea, however loosely formed, along with your date and venue, and we will develop it into a scheme you can see before you commit to it. Contact us to start the conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work from set themes or design from scratch?
Every theme is developed for the individual event. We have delivered a wide range of concepts over the years and are glad to share them as reference points, but the design itself is built around your idea and your venue.
How do you keep a theme from feeling costumed?
By expressing it through palette, texture, scale and light rather than literal props. A guest should sense the theme as soon as they enter without being able to point at the single object responsible for it.
Can you build props and features we cannot hire?
Yes. Anything the concept requires but the market does not supply is fabricated in our own Harrow workshop using CAD design and CNC machinery, then installed by our crew.
How early should a themed event be designed?
Allow several months for anything involving fabrication. Concept and palette come first, then the drawings and renderings, then the build, and each stage needs room to be reviewed properly.
Can you theme a corporate event as well as a party?
Frequently. Brand activations, award evenings and conference receptions all benefit from a coherent concept, and a theme is often the most effective way to make a corporate room feel considered rather than generic.
